Bite Sized Design News
ISSUE TWO / September 2010
Hello Nosy Parker (we love you really)

Welcome to Plink London's September mail out, designed for busy Art Department professionals who love props and design but don't have much time. That means people like you and people like us too. It's been a productive month for the good ship Plink and there's a lot of fresh content – and some jazzy new features – on the website. Everything you need, in fact, to keep up to speed with minimal effort and still catch some sun. Here are some highlights from August...
In our first Plink Access, filmmaker, Adam, introduces us to the enigmatic owner of robot shop, THUS, and finds out more about just what makes him, and his unusual shop, tick. Prop Scout, Emmily, put on her best togs and mingled with the hipsters to bring us her Six Picks of the best shops in Shoreditch, whilst Joe had a old school chinwag with award-winning Production Designer, Steve Smithwick, who's as comfortable working in the water as out of it.
Carrie initiates us into the wonderful world of the Atelier Fornasetti via her new Favourite Prop Ever, the 'Optique' trumeau. The Scouts put their heads together and rounded up their top Twelve Fabric Suppliers for your perusal. Last, but not least, Ashley took some time out to consider the implications, for just about everybody, of the new platform that's introducing Google to TV. From retro robots for hire to the lowdown on the latest digital technology, we've got our finger on the props pulse.
